The Owl Has Landed!
Clidonia Acromantula has sent me an amazing swap package! Come look, Come look! You definitely want to see it :)
LAST CALL FOR KITS!
As everyone is aware, the deadline for mailing kits to your spoilee was July 25. Most Hogwarts students were able to meet that deadline. Impressively, 66% of all Howarts students mailed prior to the early mailing date of July 14. Hats off to you!
Sadly, there are still 6 students who have not yet mailed their kits. This swap runs for 3 months and, except in extreme circumstances, not being able to mail by the last date of the swap is unacceptable. Therefore, those who have not yet mailed AND provided a delivery confirmation number to both Lavender Ackerly and Wisteria Lovegood by 7:00 p.m. Eastern on Friday, August 8 will be expelled from Hogwarts and not be allowed to return.
Any student who has NOT RECEIVED a kit should notify both Lavender and Wisteria immediately.
We have collected enough donations to prepare 2 full angel kits. If there are students who would be willing, if necessary, to provide an angel kit, or part of an angel kit, please notify Wisteria.

Ladies and gents, it has come to the very end of the swap. Actually, a little past the end. Thank you for you patience in waiting for me to get these awards up and such. So, without much adieu . . .
This is the second time that Hufflepuff is coming away with the overall win for Quidditch.
Dueling Club
This is the first time that we had so many activities coincide with the main portion of the swap. The best addition, I might add, was the Dueling Club. This activity will continue into the next HSKS swaps.
So, our inaugural winners are:
Congratulations to all the winners!!

The Owl Arrived!
A beautiful Great-Horned Owl delivered a package to me from my wonderful spoiler, Slytherin's own Ceciley Fortescue. First of all, I am not so patient and did not take a picture of the pre-opened package and it was all I could do not to dive into the edibles prior to a few snaps. All of you Hogwarts students--try not to be too jealous because this package is just incredible.
Ok. I see that you all are closely checking out the loot. Well, let me help you. I received a beautiful skein of Wollmeise Superwash Merino in the Kurbis colorway. Nice muted Gryffindor colors and the first time I have seen, held, smelled and soon to knit Wollmeise. The witches at Hogwarts are right--it is a magical yarn!
Ceciley made a beautiful cotton drawstring pouch, in beautiful Gryff colors all tied up with a silk ribbon. I will be using this immediately.
The stitch markers are lovely sapphire colored beads and the needles are a great pair of circulars. She included two great patterns--Fawkes (perfect for the Kurbis colorway I do believe) and School Sock, perfect for when I return to Hogwarts in the fall.
She sent The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova which should be a great "vampire" read over the break, along with lots of great stickers, the Busy Woman's Survival Kit filled with the best edibles, lots of Gryffindor colored candies,
a cool, stacked notions container, and a Harry Potter Spells and Potions Activity Kit that my kids and I will break out this weekend. Thank you again Ceciley and to all at Hogwarts. I cannot wait to see you next term! Cheers, Calliope Smythwyck

Brand New HBP Trailer WB Official
The timing of this trailer leads speculators to believe that this trailer will be released with the new Mummy Movie. Anyway it is fabulous!
ETA: If you go to www.moviefone.com AOL has 3 different sizes of HD versions of this trailer to watch including November at the end instead of This Year and the .com website instead of the .uk website. Very nice resolution go lookie!

Missing Kits
As you know, the final day to mail your kit to your spoilee was July 25. I am aware that there are a few kits currently in the process of being delivered by owls. If you have NOT yet received your kit from your spoiler, I would appreciate knowing as soon as possible so I can follow up. If you have mailed your kit but have not provided the delivery confirmation number, please get it to Lavender Ackerly or me immediately so we can cross you off the list. If you haven't yet mailed your kit, it is imperative that you contact me right away and let me know when you expect to mail.
We are really hoping that we won't need to send out angel kits. This has been such a fun term at Hogwarts. Let's not ruin it by not living up to the responsibilities each of us assumed when we enrolled.

THANKS TO ALL WHO DONATED
Headmistress Wartbobble and I would like to say a HUGE thank you to all who donated items to be used as prizes or in angel kits. We got a tremendous selection of items...enough for at least 2 full angel kits with plenty of things left over for prizes. We honestly didn't know if this method of putting together angel kits and prizes would work, but it seems to have been a success. It has lifted the burden off any one person to put together more than one kit as well as lifted the financial burden off others to provide prizes. Everyone at Hogwarts is truly generous and I hope that in the future more students will participate. If everyone donated just 1 item we may be able to collect enough for end-of-term prizes for everyone!
Thanks for another great term at Hogwarts. Headmistress Wartbobble, your prefects, headgirls and I had very few issues to deal with. It was a fun term and I personally hope to see many returning students next term.

Owl came!
Owlbert has arrived!!
This morning I had a visitor from Australia, Owlbert who is Eleanor Wigworthy's owl. He had the most AMAZING kit for me. I will post pictures later today. All I can say is WOW! As I am writting this I am sucking on a sherbert lemon, which is amazing for me. I have a corn allergy, but candy outside the USA is not made with corn syrup and as I have not had candy in over 3 years, lets just say I am in heaven!!! I have prepared a small owl feast and will let Owlbert take a nice long break before I arrange a portkey for him back home. Thank you so much Eleanor, I absolutely love everything!!!

Awards List
Ladies and Gents,
Here is the much awaited awards list. There were some tough decisions to be made, so it took the prefects and I a little longer than I had hoped to put this list together for you.
Please Note: Those that won the Bag Design Contest will be receiving their prizes from me. The prizes are not yet ready, but I will do my best to get them out in the next two weeks. Scouts honor!
Also, Duel Club is still in progress. We hope to be able to name the victors early next week, so keep checking back. We'll also make the announcement on Ravelry.

Congrats to Ursula!! ~ Round Three Winner
Congratulations to Ursula Longbottom!!
I know that we all have a special place in our hearts for the Longbottoms, so it is with great respect and honor that I say congratulations, Ursula :) It seems that we should have some of these Huffle in Ravenclaw, no? Quite intelligent they are LOL Here is Ursula's account of how she found the snitch:
Well, there are only 2 male students. The clue mentions a tower, and Stuart is in Ravenclaw.
On his blog there is an adorable kitten post. The clue was in the comments, which lead me back full circle to Snitch Release #1 (In May posts), where the original post was altered to include the last clue and link.
Calling Cat Lestrange!!
We know you are out there, and your quidditch post needs to go up ASAP!!!

Lookey lookey what I got...
My kit was waiting for me after a very long morning. Two boxes just the ticket for a great pick-me-up! Madam Ferula Finnigan you are such an awesome Spoiler!! I can't thank you enough - everything is SO wonderful! :) Pics are up on my blog... Thanks again Ferula...You're the BEST! :D
Gryffindor 4th House Quiz Winner!
Surprise!
When I returned to my dorm room last evening, exhausted after a long hard day of helping Professor Lufkin grade parchments and extracredit DADA practice, I discovered a very tired little owl ensnared in some of Fleur's peacock feathers. Poor little thing...I rescued it and gave it something to eat and drink before my eyes fell on the corner of a box addressed to me sticking out from under my bed. I can only guess that when the little owl found itself held prisoner in peacock feathers that it dropped the box and I most likely kicked it when I hurried to free the little guy.
Anyway, once the owl was safe I ripped into the package and discovered a wonderful swap kit from my spoiler, Catriona Lestrange. I can't wait to share the things she spoiled me with! I love it all. I will take photos and post them to my blog this evening.
Thank you, Catriona!! I'm very pleased.

A little surprise
Yes another owl came to my dormitory to drop off a surprise from Emma Wigworthy! A truly amazing piece of literature that I have been reading from beginning to end with great enthusiasm!
This is probably the best book about socks and how to knit them! Which is great because I've never done socks before so this should start me off on the right foot (pardon the pun!)
I'll take a picture of my beautiful book, when my Muggle camera batteries recharge!
Thank you Emma!!!!
