The Owl Has Landed!

Clidonia Acromantula has sent me an amazing swap package! Come look, Come look! You definitely want to see it :)

LAST CALL FOR KITS!

As everyone is aware, the deadline for mailing kits to your spoilee was July 25. Most Hogwarts students were able to meet that deadline. Impressively, 66% of all Howarts students mailed prior to the early mailing date of July 14. Hats off to you!

Sadly, there are still 6 students who have not yet mailed their kits. This swap runs for 3 months and, except in extreme circumstances, not being able to mail by the last date of the swap is unacceptable. Therefore, those who have not yet mailed AND provided a delivery confirmation number to both Lavender Ackerly and Wisteria Lovegood by 7:00 p.m. Eastern on Friday, August 8 will be expelled from Hogwarts and not be allowed to return.

Any student who has NOT RECEIVED a kit should notify both Lavender and Wisteria immediately.

We have collected enough donations to prepare 2 full angel kits. If there are students who would be willing, if necessary, to provide an angel kit, or part of an angel kit, please notify Wisteria.

Ladies and gents, it has come to the very end of the swap. Actually, a little past the end. Thank you for you patience in waiting for me to get these awards up and such. So, without much adieu . . .

Congratulations Hufflepuffs!!!

This is the second time that Hufflepuff is coming away with the overall win for Quidditch.

Dueling Club
This is the first time that we had so many activities coincide with the main portion of the swap. The best addition, I might add, was the Dueling Club. This activity will continue into the next HSKS swaps.
So, our inaugural winners are:

Congratulations to all the winners!!

The Owl Arrived!

A beautiful Great-Horned Owl delivered a package to me from my wonderful spoiler, Slytherin's own Ceciley Fortescue. First of all, I am not so patient and did not take a picture of the pre-opened package and it was all I could do not to dive into the edibles prior to a few snaps. All of you Hogwarts students--try not to be too jealous because this package is just incredible.

Ok. I see that you all are closely checking out the loot. Well, let me help you. I received a beautiful skein of Wollmeise Superwash Merino in the Kurbis colorway. Nice muted Gryffindor colors and the first time I have seen, held, smelled and soon to knit Wollmeise. The witches at Hogwarts are right--it is a magical yarn!

Ceciley made a beautiful cotton drawstring pouch, in beautiful Gryff colors all tied up with a silk ribbon. I will be using this immediately.

The stitch markers are lovely sapphire colored beads and the needles are a great pair of circulars. She included two great patterns--Fawkes (perfect for the Kurbis colorway I do believe) and School Sock, perfect for when I return to Hogwarts in the fall.

She sent The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova which should be a great "vampire" read over the break, along with lots of great stickers, the Busy Woman's Survival Kit filled with the best edibles, lots of Gryffindor colored candies,

a cool, stacked notions container, and a Harry Potter Spells and Potions Activity Kit that my kids and I will break out this weekend. Thank you again Ceciley and to all at Hogwarts. I cannot wait to see you next term! Cheers, Calliope Smythwyck
