A beautiful Great-Horned Owl delivered a package to me from my wonderful spoiler, Slytherin's own Ceciley Fortescue. First of all, I am not so patient and did not take a picture of the pre-opened package and it was all I could do not to dive into the edibles prior to a few snaps. All of you Hogwarts students--try not to be too jealous because this package is just incredible.
Ok. I see that you all are closely checking out the loot. Well, let me help you. I received a beautiful skein of Wollmeise Superwash Merino in the Kurbis colorway. Nice muted Gryffindor colors and the first time I have seen, held, smelled and soon to knit Wollmeise. The witches at Hogwarts are right--it is a magical yarn!
Ceciley made a beautiful cotton drawstring pouch, in beautiful Gryff colors all tied up with a silk ribbon. I will be using this immediately.
The stitch markers are lovely sapphire colored beads and the needles are a great pair of circulars. She included two great patterns--Fawkes (perfect for the Kurbis colorway I do believe) and School Sock, perfect for when I return to Hogwarts in the fall.
She sent The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova which should be a great "vampire" read over the break, along with lots of great stickers, the Busy Woman's Survival Kit filled with the best edibles, lots of Gryffindor colored candies,
a cool, stacked notions container, and a Harry Potter Spells and Potions Activity Kit that my kids and I will break out this weekend. Thank you again Ceciley and to all at Hogwarts. I cannot wait to see you next term! Cheers, Calliope Smythwyck
